MOSQUITO CREEK CEMETERY, Center Twp., Doniphan co., Kansas
Directions- Take Hwy 36 from Troy, KS east to Mosquito Creek Rd, trun back north and go apprx 3 miles. Cemetery is located on private property currently owned by Roger Whetstine. You will need permission to enter property. One can see the old Mosquito country school house on west side of Mosquito Creek road. The cemetery is beside the school. It is abandoned and over grown and locals report there are rattlesnakes in this area.

The cemetery had very few stones. Perhaps I could not see some if they were flat or toppled in the under growth? Perhaps they have been relocated? This cemetery is way up high overlooking the creek & has a wonderful view of the valley below. It would be impossible to physically flood the cemetery, however it is possible one day far in the future the cliff could erode and the cemetery would fall off the cliff below to the valley. The Geo Sutton family headstone is very close to an area that is unsafe to walk out on because of this erosion.
