Mrs. Collier's Class

READING
MATH
  • Students count by 2's, 3's, 5's, 10's, and 100's.
  • Shapes in our curriculum are star, heart, square, triangle, rhombus, trapezoid, hexagon, and rectangle.
  • Help your child count money.  We begin with only counting pennies, and soon add nickels, dimes, quarters and dollars one at a time.  They will need to draw the money when given an amount and count the money when coins are shown.
  • We use both analog and digital clocks.  The curriculum has 1/2 past terminology as well as saying "30 minutes" and quarter before, and quarter after.  Asking your child to read a clock or watch can help reinforce what they are learning in school.
