Wildcrafting Christmas
by Susan Hawkins

This years goal was to make things from the woods and from common things in the kitchen,
So many many possibilities! I found it so hard to pick what to do next, I thought up
a thousand things and only time to do some...Thank goodness Christmas comes again each year.
Wildcrafting Christmas is fun and incredibly easy and inexpensive, all you need is a good pair of walking shoes, clippers and baskets, a touch of glue and maybe a little paint for fancy and you have wildcrafted Christmas ! Click Here to begin!

I have made St. Nicholas art dolls for many years.
Here is my latest one ~ Sep 2009
His head and hands are made from polymers that I carved and baked.
I make a wire armature to hold him up, then stuff and shape him.
The stuffing was cotton I picked last summer.
I used an old rabbit fur I had and all the things he has are scraps and plant material.
He is depicted making wreaths of wild plants.
I find many of my characters end up doing what i am doing!
I ended up not making wreaths just from a storage and space problem.
