Passed away Saturday afternoon, June 23, 1973, at Frankenmuth Convalescent Center. Age 93 years. He was born July 19, 1879, in Blackmer, Mich., and lived in Burt, Mich., most of his life.
He married Myrtle V. Packard [on] July 11, 1906. She passed away in 1954.
He was the eldest living member of Burt United Methodist Church and a life member of the Montrose Blue Lodge No. 428 F&AM.
He was a retired postmaster of Burt after 28 years of service and was a partner in Green Brothers General Store of Burt for over 40 years. He was also active in the Zoning Board and Saginaw County Board of Election Convassers.
Surviving are one son and three daughters, Alpheus Green, Santa Cruz, Calif.; Mrs. Ralph (Dorothy) Schlegel, Toledo, Ohio; Mrs. Earl (Marjorie) Burk, Flint; Mrs. Stanley (Joyce) Lund, Ypsilanti; eight grandchildren; 14
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place [at] 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Klein Kraus Funeral home in Birch Run. Rev. Ronald Brunger will officiate with burial in the Cook Cemetery. The Montrose Blue Lodge No. 428 F&AM will conduct a memorial
service [at] 7:30 p.m. Monday.
Those who so desire may make memorials to the Burt United Methodist Church.
