    Samuel John Binsacca, 75, verteran Santa Cruz High School agriculture teacher, died Sunday in Santa Cruz.
    A native of Soledad, he began his teaching career as a student teacher under Robert Burton at Santa Cruz in 1921.
    The same year he left to organize a high school agriculture department in Red Bluff and worked there to 1925. The he returned to Santa Cruz and taught agriculture until 1959 when he retired.
    Binsacca also coached basketball and produced a northern California championship team. While at school he was also a vice principal and dean of boys.
    He served as president of the Tri-County Teachers Association and was once voted "Best Agriculture Teacher" in the state.
    In retirement he was active in the American Field Service, Red Cross, local scholarship committees; he was president of the Santa Cruz County Retired Teachers Assn., a member of the state CTA by-laws committee, a 50-year member
of the Elks, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he was a trustee and elder. He resided at 52 Pasatiempo Drive.
    Binsacca always welcomed former students into his home. They frequently came to visit him.
    Surviving him are his wife Dorothy A. Binsacca of Santa Cruz; two sons, Robert Samuel Binsacca of Orinda and Donald Bruce Binsacca of Lafayette; three brothers, David Binsacca of Soledad, Victor Binsacca of San Mateo,] and
Lawrence Binsacca of San Mateo; five sisters, Anna Binsacca and Mrs. Carrie Violini, both of Soledad, Mrs. Dorothy Walsh of San Rafael, Mrs. Olympia Anderson of Salinas, and Mrs. Eda Sleer of Salinas. Also surviving were five grandchildren.
    Memorial services will be conducted at the First Presbyterian Church, High and Mission streets, Wednesday at 11 a.m., with Rev. Thomas Carr and Rev. Thomas D. Eving jointly officiating.
    Private interment will be in the IOOF cemetery.
    Contributions may be made to the heart fund, or to a scholarship fund in memory through the First Presbyterian Church.
