Earl Clark Metcalf Jr., 52, died Friday at his home at 19580 Squaw River Lane, Bend, where he and his wife had resided since moving from Santa Cruz, Calif., in 1973. The funeral was held at 11 a.m. today at Tabor's Desert Hills
Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Robert Dalton of the Church of God of Prophecy in Crescent officiating. Burial will be in Santa Cruz.
Mr. Metcalf was born to Earl Metcalf Sr. and Edith Vance on Oct. 22, 1926 in Lincoln, Neb. At the time of his death, he had been employed by Sunriver in the maintenance department, where he had worked for the past five years.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Bend, whom he married on Dec. 31, 1947, in Santa Cruz. His parents and a son, Richard, all of Santa Cruz, also survive.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Oregon Heart Association in care of Mrs. Gene Tabor, P.O. Box 663, Bend.

Services will be Friday for Ida Dodge, who died Tuesday in a Santa Cruz convalescent hospital. She was 91.
A native of Watsonville, she lived in Aptos from 1928 to 1950 before returning to Wasvonville. She attended local schools.
Mrs. Dodge worked as a domestic and in local apple sheds. She last worked for the Heinz Co., retiring in the early 1950s.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary, Roache Grange No. 526, Paradise Rebekah Lodge No. 62 and the Grandmothers Club. She was also active in the Seniors Club in Watsonville.
Mrs. Dodge loved all the neighborhood children and animals. She enjoyed gardening.
Her family will remember her as caring for other people more than herself. She often cared for sick children and adults.
She is survived by her son Bill Dodge of Santa Cruz; a brother, Bill Nunes of Watsonville; two grandchildren, Dan Dodge of Watsonville and Sue Dodge of San Jose; 4 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Ira Dodge, died in 1957.
Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno.
Friends may call at Davis Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St., Watsonville, from noon to 9 p.m. today.
Donations are preferred to a favorite charity.
