Luella C. DeVore, who taught biology at Santa Cruz High School for 27 years, died Monday at age 66.
A native of Willows, Mrs. DeVore earned her bachelors degree in biology from Chico State College and her masters degree from Stanford University.
She began her teaching career in Red Bluff in 1937 and came to Santa Cruz in 1947. She retired in 1974.
Mrs. DeVore is survived by her husband, Earl DeVore of Santa Cruz, a long-time chemistry and physics teacher at Santa Cruz High, who retired in 1976.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. at Irwin M. Smith & Sons Chapel of the Four Seasons, 1050 Cayuga St., with the Rev Paul Kertz officiating.
Private cremation will be at the Soquel Crematory.
Contributions to the Heart Fund are preferred.
