No funeral services are scheduled for Ethel Harlamoff, member of a pioneer Soquel family, who died Monday following an illness of several months. She was 85.
Born at her father's ranch in the Glen Haven area, Mrs. Harlamoff graduated from Santa Cruz High School in 1919. She received her teaching credential and music degree from San Jose's College of Pacific. An a accomplished pianist
and soprano, Mrs. Harlamoff taught music for two years at a school in Hanford.
After a brief teaching career, she returned to Soquel to recover from a bout of malaria. It was there, at the Soquel Congregational Church where she was an organist and choir director, that she met John Harlamoff, a recent
immigrant from Russia who was to become her husband.
She and her husband developed one of the county's largest poultry farms on Old San Jose Road in Soquel.
In 1949, they moved to the east side of Soquel. They traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Mrs. Harlamoff is survived by her husband, John Harlamoff of Soquel; son, Eugene Harlamoff of Soquel; daughter, Barbara McCrary of Swanton; and seven grandchildren.
California Cremation Society, San Jose, was in charge of arrangements.

assistant Field Director. January 1 to December 31, 1945, Camp White, Ore.; Camp Adair, Ore.; Field Director, American Red Cross, July 1, 1946, as Field Director at Ft. Lewis, Wash.

Private memorial services are pending for Edward Joseph Warren, a longtime Santa Cruz teacher and adminisrator, who died Tuesday. He was 84.
A native of Ireland, Mr. Warren received his bachelaurate degree from Williamette University in Oregon and a masters from Stanford.
After teaching in Oregon, he moved to Santa Cruz in 1929 where he taught English at Santa Cruz High School. He was vice principal at Mission Hill Junior High School in 1930 and principal of the Santa Cruz Night School.
During World War II Mr. Warren was director for the American Red Cross in various parts of Oregon.
From 1949 to 1957 Mr. Warren was head of the Santa Cruz High Night School and also taught English and jornalism.
In 1957 he was director of curriculum for the Santa Cruz City Schools. He retired in 1963.
Mr. Warren was a former president of the Santa Cruz Teachers Association.
He also sang tenor and was active in local musical events.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth West Hogue Warren of Santa Cruz; one son, Dr. Charles Warren of Corvalis, Ore.; one daughter, Betty Young of Santa Cruz; one stepson, Gilbert Hogue of Alameda; one step daughter, Kathyrn Sommese
of Ellicott, Maryland; one sister, Martha Burett of Oregon; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Private memorial services are under the direction of Norman's Family Chapel, 3620 Soquel Dr.
Private cremation was at the IOOF Crematory.
Contributions to the Heart Fund or American Red Cross are preferred.
