George W. McAllister Dies At 75
--
    George W. McAllister, a former Santa Cruz High School instructor who established the school's vocational industrial arts and auto mechanics programs, died Friday in his Santa Cruz home.
    He taught at Santa Cruz High from 1949 to 1964. A native of Missouri, he came to California in 1928, living in San Francisco and then Modesto. He came to Santa Cruz in 1940 and worked as service manager for Thrash Motors for
nine years.
    He was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, the California Teachers Association, and an honorary member of the International Professional Fraternity for Education in Technology.
    He is survived by his wife, Helen McAllister of Santa Cruz; his mother, Vada McAllister of Moscow, Idaho; a brother, Chester McAllister or Mesa, Ariz.; and three sisters, Pauline Berge of Lexington, Kent., Mary Hope of Kirkland,
Wash., and Peggy Bolcerek of Stockton.
    A private Catholic blessing will be held at noon Tuesday at Norman's Family Chapel, 3620 Soquel Dr., Soquel. Friends may call at the chapel from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today or from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday.
    Private entombment will be in the Holy Cross mausoleum.
