Maria Urbani Died Yesterday
--
Maria Urbani, 83, who operate Urbani's Bocci Restaurant on Encinal Street until 1953, die Wednesday in a local convalescent hospital.
A native of Italy, she came to Santa Cruz in 1908. Her late husband, Guiseppe Urbani, died in 1951, but Mrs. Ubrani carried on for two years in the restaurant.
She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and Family of Saint Joseph.
Surviving her are two sons, Angelo Urbani of Santa Cruz and Tiz Urbani of Sunnyvale, two daughters, Mrs. Louise Bassano an Mrs. Gloria Patten, both of Santa Cruz; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
The funeral corteage will leave Norman's Family Chapel, 3620 Soquel Dr., Soquel, on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. for Holy Cross Church were a Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated commencing at 9:30 a.m.
Interment will be in the IOOF Mausoleum.
The rosary will be recited in Norman's chapel at 7:30 p.m. Contributions to Lions Eye Foundation, 2430 Clay St, San Francisco 94115, are preferred.

Alice A. Dodge passed away on December 17, 2001 at the age of 92. She was born to Albert and Julia Robideaux Gravelle in Lake Charles, Louisiana on January 4, 1909. She lived in Santa Cruz County for over eighty years. Alice was
a happy person who loved life and people. She worked [at] and managed Vapor Cleaners for over fifty years. She was active in the Soroptomist Club of Santa Cruz and the Martha Washington Chapter of the Rebecahs until the end of her life. She was also
active in the Republican Women and Sisters of Hiram.
Alice was preceded in death by her husbands, William Foster and Roy Dodge and sons Gerald Foster and John Dodge. She is survived by daughters Pat Foster Sutter of Castro Valley and Marietta Dodge Larson of Pacific Grove, 5
grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
At the request of Mrs. Dodge, there will be no services. Alice will be missed by all who knew her and there will be a big emptiness in the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to your favorite charity.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Norman's Family Chapel, Soquel.
