Tony was born April 27, 1923, in Santa Cruz, Calif. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Zolezzi, reside at 76 Continental St., Santa Cruz. While in SCHS he took a carpentry course and was a member of the June class of 1942.
Entering the service October 2, 1942, he took his training at the U.S. Naval Training Station in San Diego, Calif.; Treasure Island, San Francisco; U.S. Naval Air Station, Tongue Point, [Astoria,] Ore.; U.S. Naval Air Station,
Shelton, Wash.; [U.S. Naval Air Station, Sand Point, Seattle, Wash.;] U.S. Naval Air Station, Holtville, Calif.; and the U.S. Naval Air Station, Los Alamitos, Calif. He went overseas on the USS Wake Island CVE 65. He participated in [the] Second Battle
of the Philipines, Lingayen Gulf, occupation of Iwo Jima, and occupation of Okinawa. Tony returned to the states July 26, 1945, and was discharged October 29, 1945 as a ships cook, 1/c.

"Tony Zolezzi ['42] and wife Delores Lippert Zolezzi ['53] retired and moved to Copperopolis, CA., a thriving little town in the Gold Country of Calaveras County. They have been active in the Community Center since 1985. They
spend a lot of time traveling, golfing, bowling, square & line dancing [as well as working on church activities]. Last year they took cruises through the Panama Canal and to Alaska."
