Grace Evelyn Hochmuth, 81, of Pacific Grove, a retired teacher and consulting dietician, died Friday at Pacific Grove Convalescent Hospital after a period of failing health. Born Aug. 31, 1906, in Des Moines, Iowa, Miss Hochmuth
was a teacher for 27 years at Santa Cruz High School and later worked as a self-employed dietician at convalescent hospitals.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Monterey.
She is survived by two cousins, Ethyl Desserich of Oceanside and Dorothy Hochmuth of Des Moines, Iowa.
Private cremation will take place at the Little Chapel by-the-Sea, Pacific Grove, under the direction of Paul Mortuary, and ashes will be scattered at sea.
Any memorial contributions should go to First Presbyterian Church of Monterey.

A memorial service will be Saturday for Elizabeth Sherman Jordan, who died Tuesday at Dominican Hospital. She was 68.
A native of San Francisco, she graduated from Lowell High School and earned a degree in Spanish from San Jose State College. Mrs. Jordan and her family moved to Santa Cruz in 1953.
She was a homemaker. She dedicated many years to taking care of her mother, Helen More Sherman, who died on October 1. Mrs. Jordan was an active member of the Philanathropic Education Organization (Chapter LB), and of the
Faculty Wives of Santa Cruz High School.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years Eade Jordan of Santa Cruz; three sons, Christopher R. Jordan of Santa Cruz, Eade Glenn Jordan of Mountain View, and Kevin Jordan of Carmel, and one granddaughter.
Saturday's services will begin at 11 a.m. in Calvary Episcopal Church, 532 Center St., in Santa Cruz.
Arrangements for cremation and dispersal at sea are under the direction of Chapel of the Four Seasons.
Contributions are preferred to the American Cancer Society, 209 Walnut Ave., Santa Cruz, Calif. 95060.
