Assume: That the couple moved to Rochdale 1869-1870 from Ireland via Chester as that is where eldest daughter Sarah Ellen and first Christopher was born but 3rd child was born Rochdale.

Occupation: Outdoor labourer - Living 2 Pilling Place spotland with wife and eldest daughter, 1871.

Occupation: Living 1 Paddock Spotland with wife and children, 1881.

Fact: Has a nephew called Frederick born Ireland living with them in census, 1891.

Occupation: Mason's labourer living 2 Pilling Place with wife and several children - youngest children born Rochdale, 1891.

This is also the only James Ferris / Susan marriage on Freebmd and it is a good year and a good place for an Irishman to be.


Very difficult to trace either of these two as Irish records are sparse. Think one or the other had father Christopher / Henry and mother Sarah / Ellen as they called their children these.
