Know all men by these presents that we Thomas Neall & John Abbot are held & firmly bound unto Edmund Randolph Esqr Governor of Virginia in the sum of fifty pounds current money to which payment to be made to the said governor & his successors we each & severally bind ourselves our heirs Ens. & Admins firmly by these presents sealed with our seals & dated August 9th 1787.
Whereas there is a marriage intended to be had & solemnized between the above bounden Thomas Neall & Elizabeth Dirk widow - daughter of [blank space] both of Jefferson County. Now the condition of this obligation is such that if there be no lawful cause or just impediment to obstruct said marriage then this obligation to be good or else to remain in full force & virtue.

Know all men by these presents that we William Postelright and Jacoby ____ are held and firmly bound unto his Excellency James Garrard, Esquire Govenor of Kentucky in the just and full sum of fifty pounds current money to the payment of which well and truly to hand made to the said govenor or his successors we bind ourselves and our heirs be jointly and severally firmly be these presents sealed with our seals and dated this twenty fifth day of October one thousand seven hundred ninety nine.
The condition of the above obligation is such that wheras there is a marriage shortly intended to be had and solemnized between the above named William Postelright and Esther Durke daughter of [and is crossed out] Eliz Neal /___/ for which a license this day issued Now if there should be no lawful cause to obstruct said marriage then the above obligation to be void and to be in full force and virtue.
