Know all men by these presents that we Thomas Neall & John Abbot
are held & firmly bound unto Edmund Randolph Esqr Governor of
Virginia in the sum of fifty pounds current money to which payment
to be made to the said governor & his successors we each &
severally bind ourselves our heirs Ens. & Admins firmly by these
presents sealed with our seals & dated August 9th 1787.
Whereas there is a marriage intended to be had & solemnized
between the above bounden Thomas Neall & Elizabeth Dirk widow
- daughter of [blank space] both of Jefferson County. Now the condition
of this obligation is such that if there be no lawful cause or just
impediment to obstruct said marriage then this obligation to be
good or else to remain in full force & virtue.
