Sudie Root Tuggle
SUDIE ROOT TUGGLE was born 15 February 1884 in Clay County, Kentucky, the daughter of Reverend JOHN W ROOT Sr., and LUCY A GREGORY. She was the Great Great Granddaughter of JOHN and MARY (POLLY) YEARY BALL of Lee County, Virginia. Sudie married JUDGE JESSE DAVIS TUGGLE (1867-1953), son of WILLIAM TUGGLE and SARAH C DAVIS of Knox County, Kentucky. She was the mother of KENNETH HERNDON TUGGLE who served as Lieutenant Governor of Kentucky, 1943 - 1947. Sudie died 19 November 1946 in Knox County, Kentucky and was buried at the Barbourville City Cemetery on 21 November 1946. Submitted by: Pat Akers Lacy
