Further below are instructions for how to make contributions to a general fund used to pay for testing to further the aims of the Clan MacMillan Y-DNA surname study. Instructions on how to make directed pledges to sponsor testing of specific lineages are included.
Offers to Sponsor and/or Subsidize
The following offers are not the obligation of the Clan MacMillan, this study or any of the participants unless otherwise stated. While we believe the offers are valid, no warranty is made or implied that the offer is still valid or that the Pledgor has the financial wherewithal to follow through. We will attempt to put you in touch with the pledgor, using contact information provided by the Pledgor. The Pledgor retains the right to determine that anyone wishing to accept sponsorship or subsidy meets the criteria as specified in the offer and to demand such proof as to make the determination possible. John McMillan b 1749 Kintyre, Sct, d 1807 North Carolina, USA I would like to sponsor a male McMillan decendent of John McMillan b 1749 Kintyre, Scotland, d 1807 North Carolina, USA. He married Catherine Murphy and the family moved to Robeson Co., North Carolina. There they established the Raft Swamp Presbyterian Church. Sons were 1. Rev Neil McMillan married Mary McMillan (1786-1837 died in Alabama) 2. Gilbert McMillan (1776-1849) married Margaret Gilchrist died in NC. 3. Dougald McMillan (abt 1776-1834) married Jeanette McCorvey died in Alabama. 4. Archibald McMillan. 5. John McMillan. I would like to pay US$100 on a 37 marker test, if the participant can prove to me that he is a descendant, with the option for future upgrades after the initial results.
