MARY BECK KEENEY, wife of Charles Perry Keeney Death of Mrs. Mary Keeney - Yesterday morning we received the following from C. P. Keeney, of Chicago: "Died - At the residence of her daughter, Mrs. E. H. Faulkner, Mary Keeney, wife of Charles Keeney, deceased, and mother of the Keeney brothers who were residents of WaKeeney. The death of Mrs. Keeney, occurring at this time, is most sad, is it was her desire to return to her old home in Iowa, and preparation to this effects were completed, when she was taken with the severe illness from which she never recovered. Owing to the distance of her family, and the summer weather, the remains will be interred for the present in the cemetery at WaKeeney. Later, they will be taken to Avon, Iowa, near Des Moines, and placed in the old family burying ground by the side of her husband and children who have gone before. I do not have headstone photo for some reason, does anyone out there have one they could share? Cindy Marcell
Jonathan died young and his widow, Melissa Jane Gooch Keeney remarried to John Oliver Keeney. Melissa & John are reportedly buried in Panther Creek cemetery.
