Lusse, Mary Weber, 49 yrs, F, - 4/26/1875, v 63, p 351 [calculates to born about 1826, possibly Henry's mother]
Note: No obituary found for her as Mary Weber or Mary Lusse or any Lusse died 1875.

MARRIAGE:
(1) - Maria Knop - This marriage not found at Ancestry.com, New Orleans, Louisiana Marriage Records Index, 1831-1925.
(2) - Theodora Eckhardt - Found at Ancestry.com, New Orleans, Louisiana Marriage Records Index, 1831-1925:
Henry Lusse, age 35, to Wid. Henry Herbst, age 33, married 1 Dec 1883, v 10, p 295.
Note: The marriage is listed a second time with the same information, but with her name given as Theodora Eckhardt. [H-CVM-0058]
Note: The record indicates that Henry's parents were Casper Lusse and Mary Weber and that he was born in New York. It states that Theodora was the widow of Henry Herbst, she was born New Orleans, and that her parents were Fredrick Eckhardt and Catherine Schansenbach [spelling?]. Witnesses were Chs. H. Heintz, C. Heintz, and Dr. Chas. Eckhardt. The record indicates the minister was Rev. L. P. Heintz [Jackson Ave. Evangelical Church].

RESEARCH:
Note: The obituary of his daughter, Annie/Lillian Lusse, states that she was the daughter of Mary Knop and the late Henry Lusse. If this is correct, he died prior to 1909 and cannot be the Henry Lusse found in later records. Or, possibly the obituary could have listed him as "late" by mistake.

SIBLING(S):
Note: Henry's sister, Mary Lusse Boehler, found with her husband in 1880 census, 33 Spain Street (above), [NDH says probably 8th ward] no children listed, and neither of her brothers were living with them, brothers should be Henry and Albert Lusse. This couple's marriage found in online marriage indexes (Ancestry.com): Mary Lusse age 25 to John E. Boehler Jr. age 25, married 26 Feb 1880, v7, p861. Information from a copy of this marriage record, transcribed here, copy discarded, states that she was born in New Orleans, LA, the daughter of Casper Lusse and Mary Weber, that he was born in New Orleans, LA, the son of John E Boehler and Mary Bliss, the license was obtained 19 Feb 1880, they were married in New Orleans, LA, 26 Feb 1880 by Rev [?] Henry M. Smith, the witnesses were E. P. [?] Boehler and Emma L. Mahan, book 12, folio 309. If it could be determined what church Henry M. Smith served, perhaps a marriage could be found in those records for Henry Lusse to Mary Knop. [This couple found in the 1910 census, ED 41, 3rd Ward, pg 19A, John Boehler, 52, wife Mary, 52, 5 children, 3 living, father born Switzerland, mother born Germany.]
Note: Found a reference to "Henry M. Smith, New Orleans, LA," on the internet listing articles written for the Southern Presbyterian Review in Jul 1867." As ministers moved around quite a bit, this does not mean that he would have been connected with a Presbyterian Church from 1867 to 1880.

Note: In the 1920 census [H-CEN-0242] found a Henry Lusse, age 71, b NY, father b Switzerland, [gives marital status as m = married], living with a John E.
