I know what the difference is between LINKS and RESEARCHERS ?
A Lot really.

The folks listed on the Researchers are 1. Researchers of the Pickens Family and have their own web sites and 2. There is more than just a database.

Links on the other hand 1. Are researchers, and they may have their own Databases and they may have their own webpages but those pages contain other things most of which are not Pickens material. They may have material pertaining to the Pickens, but the material is a much large scope. Kind of like the complete census of South Carolina for 1810. It contains Pickens but is not soley Pickens material. Others have nothing to do with the Pickens family but do offer material that could be useful: like Maps. That is the difference.
