Lynch, Bobby Gene (b. 26 NOV 1937, d. 20 SEP 2006)

WALKERTOWN - Mr. Bobby Gene Lynch, 68, passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, after a brief illness. He was born Nov. 26, 1937, in Stokes County to Albert Vance and Lois Boyles Lynch. He attended Gospel Light Baptist Church, where he came to know the Lord and found peace. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Bon Homme Richard. Mr. Lynch received 35 safe driving awards before he retired with 37 years service driving long haul for Hennis Freight Lines and Murrows Trucking Co. Mr. Lynch will be best remembered for his mischievous sense of humor, as a meticulous do-it-yourselfer, as a hard worker, for his homemade grape-leaf pickles and mostly as a beloved husband, daddy, Paw Paw, brother, uncle and neighbor. He enjoyed watching his granddaughters play softball, playing golf with his buddies, Taylor, Roger, Garland and Tucker, playing with his dog, "Lady," fishing, gospel music and the coast. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lillian "Libby" Key Lynch; son Robby Lynch and wife Beverly of New Bern; daughter Carolyn Lynch of Winston-Salem; son Steve Lynch of Wilmington; daughter Darlene Ashley and husband Shae of Walkertown; sister Margie Smith and husband Roy; brother Richard Lynch and wife Jean; grandchildren Dustin, Michael, Jackie, Sandy, Jessica, Teri, Selena and Sarah Beth; great-granddaughter Holly Marie; and many special nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Lynch will be remembered in an 11 a.m. service to celebrate his life Saturday, Sept. 23, at Burroughs Funeral Home Chapel, Walnut Cove, with Pastor Herbert Mabe and Pastor Bobby Roberson officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening, Sept. 22, at the funeral home, and other times at his home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative CareCenter, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Bob's family gives a special thanks to Hospice and The Forsyth Cancer Center. In his last months, his wish was that everyone would treasure every minute of life and, in his words, "Have a good day."

TROY - Ann Pruitt Martin, 63, formerly of King died Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born November 29, 1945 in Forsyth County to Leonard Dennis and Esther Mozelle Key Pruitt. Ann retired from A.T.&T. after 30 years service. She is survived by her husband, Robert W. "Woody" Martin; two daughters, Cindy (John) McPherson of Stuart, VA, and Tamara (Frankie) Morris of Troy; five grandchildren, Michael Parrish, Nathan Morris, Shaina Morris, Brandy McPherson, and Casey McPherson. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 28 at King Memorial Park with Pastor Don Jarrell officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8, Friday, at Slate Funeral Home in King. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4 Oak Branch Dr., Greensboro, NC 27407.
