CREED

SILOAM - Mrs. Bessie Marie Rogers Creed, 70, of 2048 Quaker Church Road died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born in Surry County on Oct. 30, 1931, to the late Otis and Minnie Palmer Rogers. Mrs. Creed was a homemaker and a member of Ararat Cedar Hill Primitive Baptist Church since 1966. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Kenneth Lester Creed, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Mark Hall of Siloam; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth Perry and Teresa Creed of Rural Hall, Ronnie Lynn and Debra Creed of Pilot Mountain, Timothy Rann and Kathy Creed of Siloam and Kenny William Creed of Pinnacle; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Molean Taylor of Petersburg, Va., and Frankie and Preston Joyce of Pinnacle. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Creed was preceded in death by three sisters, Thelma Smith, Alice McKinney and Georgie Vaughn. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002, at Ararat Cedar Hill Primitive Baptist Church conducted by Elders Vance Jones, Floyd South, Willie Branch and Scottie Marshall. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Creed will be placed in the church an hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening, Sept. 30, at Howell Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Ararat Cedar Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Hulda Jones, 3460 Highway 268, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041. The family is being served by Howell Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain.

RURAL HALL - Mr. Kenneth "Perry" Creed, 52, passed away Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003. He was born Nov. 27, 1951, in Surry County to Kenneth Lester Creed and the late Bessie Marie Rogers Creed. Perry was an avid golfer as long as his health permitted. He loved his family, dump trucks and motorcycle. Perry never met a stranger and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Perry is survived by his wife, Teresa Sizemore Creed of the home; two daughters, Robin Parker and husband Ty of Tobaccoville, and Jennifer Thompson and husband Dave of Durham; two grandchildren, Mackenzie Parker and Raegan Thompson; his father, Kenneth Lester Creed and wife Carol of Siloam; a sister, Wanda Hall and husband Mark of Siloam; three brothers, Lynn Creed and wife Debbie of Pilot Mountain, Tim Creed and wife Kathy of Siloam, and Kenny Creed and wife Connie of Pinnacle; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Perry will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Trinity Friends Meeting, 819 Williams Road, Lewisville, with Dr. Robin Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening, Dec. 30, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity Friends Meeting, P.O. Box 506, Lewisville, NC 27023. Don't cry because it's over, but smile because it happened.
