PILOT MOUNTAIN - Mrs. Treva Savannah Taylor Holland, 89, of 395 Whitaker
Chapel Church Road, Pilot Mountain, died Saturday, April 23, 2005, at the
home of her daughter and son-in-law. She was born March 4, 1916, in Yadkin
County to the late Garlie Everette and Amanda Ross Taylor. Mrs. Holland was
a homemaker and a member of Whitaker Chapel United Methodist Church. In
addition to her parents, Mrs. Holland was preceded in death by her husband,
Paul Holland; a special nephew, Banks Denny; sister Lillian Matthews; and
brothers Austin, Clyde and Melvin Taylor. Surviving are her daughter and
devoted son-in-law, Judy Elizabeth Jessup and Lonnie Jessup of the home; two
special granddaughters, Shannon Elizabeth Barber and husband, Michael, of
Kernersville and Amanda Jennifer Jessup of Wilmington; a very special
great-granddaughter, Kendall Elizabeth Barber; sisters and brothers-in-law
Opal and Wade Denny of Pilot Mountain, Ann Roggenkamp of Charlotte, Nell
Smitherman of Winston-Salem, Faye and James Walker of Winston-Salem and
Grace Hardy of East Bend; and brothers and sisters-in-law Paul and Margaret
Taylor of Pfafftown and Glenn and Lorene Taylor of East Bend. Funeral
services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, at Whitaker Chapel
United Methodist Church with the Rev. Betty Boyd and the Rev. Arthur
Livengood officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs.
Holland will be placed in the church one hour before the service. The family
will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight, April 26, at Howell-Nelson Funeral
Home in Pilot Mountain. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made
to The Angelman Syndrome Foundation, 3015 E. New York St., Suite A2265,
Aurora, IL 60504, or to the Whitaker Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery
Fund, c/o Mr. J.W. Denny Jr., 257 Burge Road, Pinnacle, NC 27043. The family
is being served by Howell-Nelson Funeral Service of Pilot Mountain.

Christopher is adamant that everyone understand his branch of the Denneys/Dennys spell the name as DENNY. Note: PILOT MOUNTAIN - Mrs. Margaret Virginia Fulk Denny, 94, widow of Kenneth
Jones Denny of Pilot Mountain, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at
Surry Community Nursing. She was born on Jan. 31, 1912, in Surry County to
the late Doctor Riley Fulk and Cordella Samuel Fulk. Mrs. Denny was a
schoolteacher for more than 44 years, mostly with the Surry County school
system, and was a member of First Baptist Church, Pilot Mountain. Mrs. Denny
was a graduate of Western Carolina Teachers College. She was the oldest
member of Pilot Mountain Chapter No. 23, O.E.S., and held the longest
membership. Mrs. Denny is survived by two sisters, Mary Kathryn Fulk Stone
of Pilot Mountain, and Frances Fulk Sawyer of Greensboro; brother-in-law
Wade and Opal Denny; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Denny was preceded
in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Jones Denny; and sisters Annie
Ruth Thomas and Elizabeth Lawson. Funeral services will be conducted at 2
p.m. Friday, April 21, at First Baptist Church, Pilot Mountain, with the
Rev. Gene Sherill and the Rev. Ed Newton officiating. Interment will follow
at Whitaker's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Whitaker's Chapel Road, Surry County, NC. The family will
receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, April 20, at Cox-Needham Funeral
Home. The family wishes to express its thanks to the Staff of Surry
Community Nursing Center and special caregiver Evelyn Davis. Memorials may
be made in floral tribute, or to Pilot Mountain Eastern Star No. 23, c/o
Betty George, Secretary, 10521 N.C. 89 Hwy. West, Westfield, NC 27053, or
First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 818, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041.
The family is being served by Cox-Needham Funeral Home, Pilot Mountain.
