Mrs. Webster Celebrates her One Hundredth Birthday

MRS ELIZABETH FLINCHUM WEBSTER

Mrs. Elizabeth Flinchum Webster celebrated her 100th birthday on Jan 22.
Mrs. Webster is a native of Surry County. Mrs. Webster was married to Mr. Samuel Webster who passed away at the age of 29. The couple had 4 children, 2 deceased.
The 2 boys living are Oscar of Sophia, N.C. and Posey Webster of Archdale of which she makes her home. There are 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and 11great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Webster due to a broken hip is confined to her home. She is very alert in talking and greets each one with a big smile.
Mrs. Webster has a number of nieces and nephews near Carthage and Robbins. Some are, Mrs. Wiley Purvis, Mrs. Jr. Hicks, Mrs. Burgwyn Brady, Mr. Brady Flinchum, Mr. Tom Flinchum, Mr. Robert Flinchum, Mr. Joel Flinchum and Mr. Alex Flinchum.
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Flinchum, Mrs. Wiley Purvis, Mr. and Mrs. Barringer Phillips visited Mrs. Webster on her birthday, also a number of close friends and relatives visited her. A birthday dinner was set on the 20th.

She was laid to rest at Whitaker's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Whitaker's Chapel Road, Surry County, NC, Surry County, NC

Later at age 83 J.T. married Annie Street Fields. a retired school teacher. (Report says 2/14/83 but it must have been 1953!)
