Key, Elizabeth F. "BETTY" (b. 5 APR 1866, d. 16 JAN 1950)
Note: Ararat Friends Church Cemetery Survey By Bob Carter gives her DOB as April 5, 1866!
Elizabeth and her husband were of the Methodist religion.
They were laid to rest at the Ararat Friends Church Cemetery, Ararat Road, Surry County, NC
Her husband Thomas was appointed the position of RR Agent in Ararat, NC in 1904 and they moved to same after his appointment. In 1905 Thomas was appointed the position of Postmaster at Ararat (it was called FORGE then). He later opened a store of his own with the Post Office in back. He installed a telephone system in the store with lines connecting to Pilot Mountain, Mt. Airy, and Dobson. His son, Oliver and his wife were the telephone operators.
He was also a Methodist Minister and a farmer.

Note: The marriage of Achillis to this Mary Jones is not certain, the facts seemed to point this way as I had this Mary Jones marrying an unknown KEY. UPDATE: Confirmed by data from Ned Lankford.
Achillis and Mary would have been second cousins!
Achillis and Mary are buried at the Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. His wife died of a cerebral thrombosis and Achillis died of a myocardial infarction.
Achillis was a farmer.
