Ruby Ethel Hill Jones, 71, of Mount Airy, N.C.,
died Sunday, December 14, 2003, at Surry Community
Nursing Center.
She was born July 31, 1932 in Carroll County and
was a daughter of the late Rufus Hilary and Lola
Mae Hall Hill. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Bruce Jones; four brothers, Kolby Hill,
Raymond Hill, Romie Hill and Harry Paul Hill; and
a sister, Betty Hill.
She was retired from Spencer's, Inc., and was
associated with her husband, Bruce, in the funeral
profession.
She was a member of Holy Cross Missionary Baptist
Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Judy Jones Marshall
and Karen Jones Woods, both of Mount Airy; two
sons, Clark Jones of Mount Airy and Trent Jones of
Ararat; one sister, Uda Harmon of Woodlawn; and
seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 17,
2003, at Howell Funeral Home chapel in Mount Airy.
The Rev. Butch Holder officiated. Burial was in
Skyline Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross
Missionary Baptist Church Youth Group, c/o Tammy
Simpson, 210 Southern Road, Mount Airy, N.C.
