Chilton, Margie Irene (b. 30 AUG 1922, d. 9 JUN 2009)

PINNACLE - Mrs. Margie Chilton Denny, age 86, of 257 Burge Road, Pinnacle, NC, died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on June 9, 2009. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, J. W. Denny Jr. Mrs. Denny was born in Surry County on August 30, 1922 to parents, Roscoe and Lela Chilton. She was a devoted, successful homemaker and farmer' s wife. Her other mission in life was one of service in Christian education and especially church music. At the time of her death, she was a member of Whitaker Chapel United Methodist Church. Over time, she served in many leadership roles in church and United Methodist Women. She wrote and directed hundreds of religious pageants and musical programs. Largely self-taught, she served as church pianist for over 70 years from the age of 14, and also as choir director, until just two months prior to her death, when her illness forced her to end her service. Mrs. Denny was predeceased by her parents; and one brother, Eldon Chilton. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Jermayne Denny Cook of Huntersville, NC; a son, Dwight Denny of Palm City, Florida; five grandsons; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Whitaker Chapel United Methodist Church with interment to follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2009 at Howell-Nelson Funeral Home, Pilot Mountain, NC. Mrs. Denny will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Prior to her death, Mrs. Denny requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030, the church or other charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made at www.howellfuneralservices.com.

MOUNT AIRY - Mr. Richard Jay Inman, 75, of 132 Gwyn Ave., the husband of
Beulah Midkiff Inman, passed away Monday, June 16, 2003, at his home. Mr.
Inman was born in Randolph County March 5, 1928, to the late Harry and Ella
Jane Shelton Inman. He was a member of Flat Rock Ruritan Club, retired from
R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. and a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Beulah Midkiff Inman of the home; a
daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Ottis Lowe of Mount Airy; two grandsons
and a spouse, Richard and Shelley Lowe and Bryan Lowe, all of Mount Airy; a
sister, Nina Belle Cooke of Wilkesboro; and a brother and sister-in-law,
William "Bill" and Juanita Inman of Mount Airy. The funeral service will be
held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2003, at Flat Rock Baptist Church and
conducted by Dr. Jon Cawley and Chaplain Nancy Warner. Burial will be at
Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this
evening at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where his body will remain
until carried to the church to lie in state 30 minutes before the funeral
service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Flat Rock
Baptist Church, P.O. Box 587, Mount Airy, NC 27030 or to Northern Hospice,
P.O. Box 6626, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
