Mr. Jack Wayne Flippin, 70, of Winston-Salem passed away Tuesday, April 8,
2003, at his home. He was born March 29, 1933, in Surry County to the late
William Homer and Ella Reid Flippin. He was employed with Parks Chevrolet
for more than 35 years and acquired a very close and lasting friendship with
Hubert Parks, H.B. Foust and many others. Mr. Flippin was very well-known
and respected in the automobile business for more than 45 years and will be
dearly missed. One of his many accomplishments included reaching the highest
level of the General Motors Society of sales executives given nationally
each year for the past 25 years in honor of his outstanding achievements.
Mr. Flippin was an avid golfer and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was
preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Duggins, and a brother, Palmer
Flippin. Surviv-ing are his wife Mrs. Priscilla Kidd Flippin of the home; a
daughter Gail (Randy) Flippin Duggins of Winston-Salem; two sons, H. Lee
(Gayle) Flippin and David W. (Danita) Flippin, all of Clemmons; five
grandchildren, Wesley (Jodi) Duggins, Kimberly Duggins, Adam and Zachary
Flippin, and James Zahn; three stepchildren, Kevin (Leslie) Wagner, Debbie
(Tony) Potts and Tammy Morris; seven stepgrandchildren; a sister, Pat
(Keith) Cheadle of Winston-Salem; four brothers, Taylor (Carol) Flippin of
Siloam, Jarvis (Judy) Flippin of Oak Ridge, Tex (Barbara) Flippin of
Jonesboro, Ga. and Laymond Flippin (Diane) of McGaheysville, Va. The family
will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Hayworth-Miller Silas
Creek Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12,
2003, at Forsyth Friends Meeting, 800 Jonestown Road, with Mr. Steve Wood
and the Rev. Robert Stanton officiating. Memorials may be made to Bowman
Gray School of Medicine or to Hospice & Palliative CareCenter, 1100-C S.

MOTHERS OBIT
MOUNT AIRY - Mrs. Ethel Daniel Beamer, 96, of Mount Airy, widow of Samuel Frank Beamer, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mrs. Beamer was born in Guilford County on April 22, 1910, to the late Edgar Daniel and Maude Atkins Daniel and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church for over 60 years. Surviving are two daughters, Judy Bray of Davidson and Carol Denny and husband Wayne of Pilot Mountain; a son, Arthur Beamer, and wife Patricia of Greensboro; seven grandchildren and spouses, Dean Bray III and Julie of Mount Airy; Shannon
and Joel Barto of Mooresville; Becky and Greg Ebert of Lewisville; Douglas F. Beamer of High Point; Daniel L. and Ashley Beamer of Roanoke, Va.; Richard K. Penn III and Wendy of Sherrills Ford; and Brooks F. and Stacey Penn of Cary; and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, at Antioch Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dale Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service, in the fellowship hall at Antioch Baptist Church.
