Baltimore City Nineteenth-Century Photos

John A. Eccleston, the son of James and Julia Ann Cross Eccleston was born on 2 April 1850 in Baltimore County. He married Clara Augusta Kepler in 1878 at 90 East Fayette Street in Baltimore City. John died on 10 June 1911. There is no photography studio identified on this photo.
 
 
 
 
 

Clara Augusta Kepler was born in 1850 to William Kepler and Mary Ann Camphor. She married John A. Eccleston on 29 January 1878 in Baltimore. They had five children. She died on 22 January 1940. This Carte-de-Visite was made in the David Wilkes studio at 125 West Baltimore Street probably between 1874 and 1878
 
 

Below is a photograph of one of John and Clara's children, Maud E. Eccleston who was born 10 February 1881. She was engaged to James Hitt however he succumbed to typhoid fever. Maud never married. She died September 1968. This cabinet card was created by the John A. Plumley Studio at 588 North Gay Street about 1903. The photo is submitted by Carolyn Josselyn but is in the possession of her sister Michelle Scott.
