Captain JESSE EMERSON TROWER - 1832-1893
Moved to  Baltimore from the Eastern Shore of Virginia in 1850 to pursue a career in the
merchant marine. His obituary in the Baltimore Sun on 28 August 1893 reports,"During the
civil war Captain Trower was master of the brig 'Sunny South' in which, until
near the close of the war, he ran the federal blockade and carried hospital
stores from New York to New Orleans..." Jesse Trower is buried in Loudon Park  Cemetery.

SARAH FELL TROWER - 1832-1911
Daughter of Philip Stuart Fell, a merchant mariner and
Frances Ann Wise. Sarah married Jesse Trower in 1858. In the 1880 census the
Trowers are enumerated at 214 Sout Ann Street with their two sons, two
elderly aunts, two boarders, and one servant. A whole lot of people in one
rowhouse...
