Mt. View Cemetery Association (a registered 501(c)13 charitable organization) maintains bank accounts at both the Coleman County State Bank and also the Coleman First National Bank.  As of September 29, 2006, the balance in the account at the First National Bank is $870; the balance in the Coleman County State Bank as of September 25, 2006, is $6,320.40.

Like all other non-profit cemetery associations, Mt. View Cemetery Association of Coleman County depends on contributions from interested people and businesses to operate.  Historically, our expenses have been minimal.  The primary expense is usually to have the grounds mowed on an as-needed basis, around special holidays, or when a funeral is scheduled.

We expect that to continue, however we do have some projects we would like to undertake.  Future projects for the cemetery include building a pavilion near the front gate (this work is in progress), marking the graves of the unknown with stenciled pavers (this work is in progress); erecting a fence on the east (back) side of the cemetery, clearing the brush from the front entrance, clearing the brush and taking out selected trees in the new ½-acre donation land, and enhancing the entrance on the west from the county road.

If you have family buried at Mt. View or expect to be buried there yourself, we encourage you to help us keep this quiet spot of final repose maintained and improved by contributing any amount you are comfortable with.  Please mail your donation to Faye Faries, Treasurer, 313 Fifth Avenue, Coleman, TX 76834.  No amount is too small and your contribution will be very much appreciated.
