Missy B. (cat) Gatewood 1988 - 2006 |
Preceded in death by her sister, Prissy, and her step-brother, Shadow, Missy is survived by her step-brothers Sammie, Chaucer and Strider, and her grieving parents Barbara & Tim Gatewood. She was laid to rest on Saturday, January 7, 2006, after being a joy to us for almost 18 years. She had been ill with thyroid, congestive heart, and other health problems for a few years, and took a sudden turn for the worse during that week. On Friday, she was unable to eat or drink anything and could barely breathe, so the difficult decision had to be made to let her go to her long-deserved rest. She will never be forgotten by those who knew her. Memorials should be sent to a shelter or pet rescue organization of your choice. (Several months after the above memorial was posted, we adopted Tabby, a 5 year old short hair part Maine Coon who had been orphaned when the last of her humans passed away. While no pet can truly replace another, Tabby and the 3 male cats we serve are great at distracting us from our grief over Missy. / tag) |

I don't recall who said it, but this is very true.
