SAM AND LELA ANN DUKE MOBLEY AROUND 1973

JARIDS BROTHER SAM MOVED WITH HIS FAMILY FROM OKLAHOMA TO NEW MEXICO IN THE EARLY 1940s. I REMEMBER THEM DRIVING UP TO OUR HOUSE IN AN OLD CHEVE SEDAN WITH THE TOP CUT OFF AND A WOODEN BED MADE ONTO IT. ALL THE FAMILYS BELONGINGS WERE PILED ON THAT CHEVE.
THESE WERE HARD TIMES AND EVERYONE MADE DO WITH WHAT THEY HAD. SAM BUILT A CINDER BLOCK HOUSE IN THE 500 BLOCK OF SOUTH SUNSET IN ROSWELL. EVERY MOBLEY I KNEW WERE BUILDERS, BUT SOME WORKED AT OTHER JOBS. SAM WENT TO WORK FOR A MOVING AND STORAGE COMPANY IN ROSWELL, AND LATER MY DAD DID THE SAME. GROWING UP, I REMEMBER THE KIDS, BOBBIE MAE, EDNA, LONZO, GENEVA AND EDITH. I DONT REMEMBER HELEN.
I LOST TRACK OF THEM IN THE 1950s AS WE ALL WERE GROWING UP AND MOVING AWAY. SAM AND LELA ARE BURIED IN KINGSTON CEMETERYIN KINGSTON OKLA

My thanks to Helen Mobley ( Daughter of Sam and Lela ) for the Pics
