GATE CITY, Va. - Charles Ray Cook, 45, departed this life Thursday (Aug. 9, 2001) at his residence.
He retired from the Tennessee Eastman Company.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Cook; his sister, Mary Ruth Ward; and his mother-in-law, Mildred Ruth Catron.
Surviving are his wife, Karen Catron Cook, Gate City, Va.; mother, Mrs. Raymond (Pauline) Cook, Kingsport; sister-in-law, Sharon L. Catron, Kingsport; brother-in-law, Gerald (Jerry) Ward, Kingsport; several aunts and uncles and many friends.
The family will receive friends anytime at the home of Mr. Cook's mother, Pauline Shaw, 2263 Shaw Road, West Carter's Valley in Kingsport.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, Va., with Pastor Richard Willis of Mount Calvary Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Kingsport officiating.
The family will be meeting at the cemetery for the graveside service.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made to the Kingsport Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 922, Kingsport, Tenn. 37662.
Gate City Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
